Our 3 step process

We follow a thorough three stage process to ensure you get the right solution for your on-site catering facility:

Stage 1 – Evaluation and proposal

We are committed to ensuring the suitability of your on-site catering facility so we always undertake a free of charge feasibility study before starting any work. There is no obligation to continue working with us if the process doesn’t yield the right results. The feasibility study involves:

  • An initial questionnaire: This allows us to ascertain ‘hard facts’ about your work place and the current or potential operation, eg the number of people on site, average salary and shift patterns

  • Market research: On completion of the questionnaire we then undertake market research amongst the people who matter: potential customers within your work place

  • Feasibility report: Once we have collated these results, we will produce a final feasibility report. If the results show a positive outcome we can use them as the basis for your proposal: establishing exactly what, when, where and how the operation will function.

Ultimately, we want to be sure we deliver a viable on-site catering facility that provides an exciting and enjoyable experience for customers, enhances morale and increases efficiency and loyalty in your work place.

Stage 2 – Delivery and opening

Based on the outcome of your feasibility report, we will work with you to identify which canteen concept is right for you and your customers: Melon Yard, Cafe Terra or Canteen.

The design and build of your facility will progress as follows:

  • New build or refresh of the facility: If there is a facility already on-site we will strip this down and commence the redesign. Or, if the facility is to be created from scratch, we will work from an agreed set of plans and designs and will begin the build of the operation, either working with our own experienced contractors or yours if you already have them on board. Successful on-site catering is as much about the experience as it is the quality of the food and drink. The inclusion of plasma screens, newspapers and a library with comfortable seating add real value to your on-site facilities.

  • Pre-launch marketing activity: Whilst the build or refresh of the facility is underway, we will focus on the pre-launch marketing activity so we can ensure a high percentage of use once the new facility is operational. This should be equal to at least the minimum levels set out in the feasibility report. We will create an enticing opening offer along with an ongoing loyalty programme, and establish how we will communicate these to your customers

  • Pilot opening: We insist your operation runs as smoothly as possible and will therefore have a pilot opening with a select few customers before the full launch. This is to smooth out any potential teething problems and to receive feedback on the initial menus so these can be revised if necessary.

Once the opening date of the new facility is confirmed, it can be communicated through the agreed marketing channels and we will ensure the day is celebrated throughout your organisation.

Stage 3 – Service and progress

  • We will ensure the ongoing success of your on-site catering operation through the following factors:

  • Top quality food and drink: We will tailor menus based on your requirements and the outcome of your feasibility report which lets us know what your customers are looking for. We can provide, for example, freshly-prepared baguettes and sandwiches, salads, paninis, organic soups, jacket potatoes, through to hot dinners such as traditional bangers & mash, curry and chilli con carne.  Everything we provide will be sourced from our reputable and trusted suppliers

  • Choice for all: Variety is essential to a successful catering facility and satisfied customers. It’s our priority to provide delicious, fresh, healthy food combined, where possible, with organic and Fair Trade options. In addition, we will always cater for those with special dietary requirements, such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten and dairy free. We can also supply Halal and Kosher food  if required

  • Dedicated team: Every member of our team will be a member of your team, dedicated to ensuring you experience a fantastic catering service. Our staff are fully trained in all aspects of food production, hygiene, Health & Safety and customer service

  • Feedback from your customers: Any good catering facility will evolve. The best way to ensure it continues to improve and move in the right direction is to listen to your customers. We will provide confidential comments cards and a post box at your facility, and will undertake regular questionnaires and market research with rewards to encourage participation from your customers

  • Regular reviews:  We will establish regular meetings with you to discuss feedback from customers, as well as any ideas, requests or concerns you may have. Tangible deliverables will be established to ensure that the operation keeps moving forward, standards are maintained and the experience exceeds expectations.
